Long time no blog, folks. I've been working like crazy, but that's no real excuse.

Anyway--last night, while watching our beloved Lost, Rob and I couldn't help but crack up at the teasers for our local news station's evening broadcast during the commercial breaks. The big story: The latest, greatest, technological breakthrough. With a lead-in like that, what could it be, you ask? The ability to access the internet in your brain? Advancements in the world of teleportation?

Nope. They were doing a big story on Second Life. Which launched in 2003.

Awwwwwww... that's so cute. Poor little Cincinnati TV.

Promo from my local television station while watching The Office last night...the gist was you are still not safe if you walk alone in the middle of the night in a dark alley or on a dark street if you have your cell phone. It's a false sense of security.

Second Life isn't as good as Second Second Life, but I've heard that in Second Life, you not only pay the monthly fee to play the game, but if you want new virtual clothes, you have to pay money for them.

Not virtual money. Real money.

Dayum. I know a certain trade magazine that covered that bizness back in like 06 or something.

It's no better in L.A. One story this week during the morning news was about sounds your body makes. Sample (and, yes, they really said this): If your stomach is gurgling or growling, it may mean that you're hungry.

Would you agree that at least once a month or so this blog ends up discussing stupid things said on the local news. Should we just make this a regular feature?

I'd read it!

Justin and I have been cracking up all weekend over the cell phone/dark alley promo. However, the best was at the end when Scott and Paula are staring each other down to show what cutting edge journalists they are. Words clearly don't do it justice here, but trust me, it's hilarious.
