I'm weirded out that before I read your last entry I had no idea who this guy is or what that show was, or really anything about it. I sort of still don't, BUT I think it's superawesomecoolerator that you wrote to Snopes about it.

You should also try emailing some of his former Hey Dude! co-stars. Maybe they can help you out?
